Passcode
I forgot my passcode. Can you reset it?
No. Vult has no account and no server, so there's no way for anyone, including us, to reset your passcode or open your vault. If you're locked out, the only option is to delete Vult and install it again, which permanently deletes everything in the vault. If you made a backup, you can restore it afterwards with its passphrase.
Can I use Face ID?
Yes: Settings → Unlock with Face ID. Your passcode still works as a fallback. Face ID never falls back to your iPhone's passcode, and if a face is added or Face ID is reset, Vult asks for its own passcode once before Face ID works again.
Can Vult erase itself after wrong passcodes?
Yes, if you turn on Settings → Erase After 10 Wrong Passcodes. After 10 wrong passcodes in a row Vult permanently erases everything, including the decoy vault. Wrong codes typed into the calculator disguise count too. Keep a backup.
Backups and new phones
How do I back up my vault?
Settings → Back Up Vault. Choose a passphrase, then save the backup file somewhere safe, such as Files or iCloud Drive. Keep the passphrase somewhere safe too: without it the backup can't be opened.
How do I move my vault to a new phone?
Back up on the old phone, install Vult on the new one, then use Settings → Restore from Backup (or "Restore from a backup file" on the subscription screen during setup) and enter the backup's passphrase.
Subscription
How do I cancel?
Settings → Manage Subscription in Vult, or in the Settings app → your name → Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or current period ends to avoid being charged for the next one.
What happens if I cancel?
You can still open and export everything in your vault. Adding new items is limited to the free tier.
I already subscribed. How do I get Pro back on a new device?
Tap Restore on the subscription screen, signed in with the same Apple Account.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
Privacy features
Decoy passcode. Settings → Decoy Passcode sets a second passcode that opens a separate vault.
Calculator Disguise. Settings → Calculator Disguise turns the lock screen into a working calculator. To unlock, type your passcode and press =.
App icon. Settings → App Icon lets you choose a different Home Screen icon.
Break-In Reports. Settings → Break-In Reports. After a wrong passcode, Vult takes one front-camera photo and, if allowed, notes the location. Reports stay on your device.
Saving from websites
Can I save videos from websites?
Yes, if you have the right to. Vult's private browser can save photos and videos a page shows into your vault. Only save content you made, own or have permission to save, and follow each site's terms. Saving is turned off on major platforms (such as YouTube, Netflix, TikTok and Instagram), and Vult can't save copy-protected video.
Why can't I save from a particular site?
Either saving is turned off on that platform, the video is copy-protected, or the video hasn't started playing yet. Vult can only see a video once it plays.
